Description: Filipino Youth Ministry is the umbrella ministry comprising of the Filipino youth organizations based out of the formed prayer groups under the banner of the Filipino Community. The following groups are Youth for Christ (YFC), Singles for Christ (SFC), Singles for Family and Life (SFL), Youth of El Shaddai, Light of Jesus – Youth, Altar Servers, Fillcom Youth and Families.
Our Vision: A unified community called to evangelize and strengthen the faith of Christ-like Overseas Filipinos. (Adapted from the Filipino community mission vision).
Our Mission: Working as one body in upholding and proclaiming the love of Christ by serving others through prayer and action. (Adapted from the Filipino community mission vision).
Meeting Occurrence Details: Monthly meetings with the Youth coordinators of all the Filipino Youth Coordinators every 1st Monday of the month. Meetings are encompassed mainly of fellowships, updates from respective groups, announcements’ dissemination from the Young Adults Ministry & the Filipino community.
General Events:
=> “Chitchat Session”/ Dialogue with our Spiritual Director- 2nd Tuesday of the Month
**It is an activity wherein we discuss various topics i.e. (Discernment, Vocation, Christus Vivit) that is chosen and relatable by the Youth and Young Adults in which leads to interaction amongst the youths and a dialogue with our spiritual director.
=> Celebration of Mother’s Day & Father’s Day- May 2nd week & June 3rd week ** A special activity is being planned yearly in lieu of the celebration of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Each year the groups assigned have different themes and creative activities that leads to honoring of all the Mothers and Fathers of the Filipino Community.
=> “Panunuluyan” / Nativity Play- December 23
** An activity that involves catechizing through the re-enactment of the nativity play. This usually takes place on the last day of the “Simbang Gabi” (Novena Mass) of the Filipino Community wherein this program has been entrusted to the Youth Ministry.
